Justice System, Human Rights & minorities
The justice system, with a particular focus on criminal justice, will undergo essential reforms. Addressing bribery within the lower judiciary will be a priority. In recognition of social and economic needs, Justice must not only be done butmust also be seen to be done.
The enforcement of fundamental human rights will be assured in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan and the United Nations Charter. All such laws and customs will be immediately abolished which conflict with human rights and societal values. In particular, all discriminatory and stereotyped concepts, customs, and violence related to women and children will be eliminated. Efforts will be made to facilitate women in obtaining equal rights and empowerment in economic, political, educational, cultural, and all other areas of public life. The enforcement of all laws concerning the protection of women and children from violence will be ensured.
Minorities will be fully safeguarded, with protections for their places of worship and their freedom of belief, religious practices, and customs. Steps will be taken to grant religious minorities equal rights and powers without discrimination, enabling equal participation in state affairs and recognition as equal status citizens in the eyes of the state.
